With over two decades of experience in pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and FMCG across three continents, I have had the honour of holding leadership roles in Fortune 500 companies. I have collaborated with diverse, cross-functional teams, and have observed that while dysfunctional teamwork can result in frustration, effective teams generate synergy and optimize flows, which energizes individuals and enhances overall performance.
Through experience with both effective and ineffective teams, it is clear that psychological safety, understanding the broader ecosystem, and defining the team's purpose are essential for fostering meaningful contributions, critical thinking, effective collaboration, and continuous learning.
